About Us

Family owned and run, The Pink House Hostel was originally an old school for the village, and many of the older folks in the village remember attending inside The Pink House! In an attempt to preserve as much of the history as possible, the bedroom floors in the rooms and the upper level are all the original wood that was repurposed from ships in the early and mid 20th centuries that ran aground outside of Faja Grande. The staircase to the second floor is also original , along with most of the doors and cabinetry. Modern touches are sprinkled here and there for comfort and accessibility but we hope you still feel a sense of the past in the rustic furnishings!

The Family responsible for the creation of The Pink House are world travelers themselves, settling from a life of sailing around the world for 12 years, to a quieter pacing of life on Flores Island, growing their own food and enjoying the serenity that the island provides. The entire family is involved in the hostel and you can ask them about their travels or any tips they can recommend in Faja Grande or further.

Inside, the hostel is bright and spacious, with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. There are several common areas designed to encourage socializing and relaxation, including a comfortable lounge with sofas and armchairs, a dining area where you can enjoy a meal or a drink, and a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.

Our shared kitchen at the Pink House Youth Hostel is a vibrant space where young travelers come together to cook, share recipes, and forge friendships. Equipped with modern appliances, it's the perfect place to unleash your culinary creativity and bond with fellow adventurers over delicious meals.

The hostel offers a variety of room types to suit different needs and budgets, including 6 bed mixed dormitories and smaller, 4-person rooms with private bathrooms. All rooms feature comfortable beds and plenty of storage space.

A short walk down the road from The Pink House is the village's beautiful ocean front, as well as a few restaurants and cafes, and there are 2 supermarkets, one up the road and one down, the SuperFaja and Lindas. Our staff can point you in their direction for all your needs.
